GASPAR ISLAND, MARINDUQUE

I've seen this place from afar for the longest time, but we haven't had the time (or the courage) to go to this beautiful Island. It's my second time in this place, and my first time was I guess almost a decade ago.
. Gaspar Island is located in this beautiful town of Gasan, Marinduque. This Island is one of the Tres Reyes (Melchor, Gaspar, Baltazar). Gaspar is the nearest of the three and the most accessible of all.
How to get to Gaspar Island:
When you arrive in the central town of Gasan, just ask the locals for boats going to the Island.
You may go to the barangay nearest the Island, Barangay Pingan.
We are from Barangay Gasan and there are also fishermen there who can also offer to rent their boats to the Island.
What to expect: Bumpy waters when you are nearing the Island. We went during the Summer, but still experienced the bumpy waters, what more if it's the rainy (windy) season, so brace yourselves.
The boat ride travel is about 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the boat or the waves in the sea.
The view is FANTARIFIC! You can see the Mt. Malindig and the beautiful Island of the Marinduque, the mountain, the beach, the sea, the sky, you'll be thanking God while taking the boat ride for the magnificent view!
There are huts in the island that you can rent, big and small tables, a room for big families.
There are stores in the Island, you can bring your own food or buy on the Island.
There are sides of the Island where the waves are high. I don't advice parents to leave their kids unattended in the waters, the water is also deep.
Bring your goggles, it is nice underwater, there are sea urchins, school of fish, some corals and starfish underwater. It was breathtaking.
Mt. Malindig blowing smokes or maybe it's just the trick of the clouds. The little island on left is the Bellarocca formerly known as the Elephant Island

The rocky shores

The locals sell fish you can cook on the grill. They even offer doing the cooking for you.

The other side of the Island. A little Rocky. White Sand. Very Wavy.

The huts you could rent.

The locals sell starfish, BUT if you know how to dive, you could get your own Starfish, like we did.

The place we stayed at.
