MADDOX BROTHERS BOOK REVIEW

December 18, 2015

Just finished reading Beautiful Redemption this afternoon.

I think its the third book of the Maddox Brothers by Jamie McGuire.

Beautiful Disaster

Beautiful Oblivion
Beautiful Redemption

Let me tell you first that as much as I LOVE books, I have a little problem with remembering them. I've read hundreds of books already (well according to my Goodreads account, I've read 240 books as of today, December 18, 2015) and only a few sticks to me, only my favorites in which I like to re-read.

So here's the deal, I've read the first book, Beautiful Disaster around three years ago (my Goodreads acount says I read it December 2012), Its about Travis and Abby, I loved it. Why? Because I'm a sucker for bestfriends to lovers stories, though they aren't really friends at first, it all started as a bet, then they became close, there's a lot of jealousy involved (I love the I-cant-love-you-because-im-your-friend-and-i-might-lose-you-but-i-dont-want-you-with-anyone-but-me kind of stories), Abby and Travis' relationship gave birth to problems in which the latter books will, uhmm, solve, right.

Next is the Beautiful Oblivion. Trenton and Camille. I also just finished it yesterday. What I thought about it? It was a bit disappointing, I give it three stars (and I think I'm being generous). I like Trenton, he is loyal but the problem is Camille, too stubborn, too difficult which results to being too stupid. Then there's her roommate, Raegan, she's just so... how can I put this nicely... slutty, we'll that's not nice. If I'm there with her Ill just tell her "make up your damn mind!". I think, this one lacks background story, see, Trent loves Cami since they were kids, but it lacks showing of their history together. It's like Trent had a crush on Cami, but wasn't serious enough to pursue her. It's just stupid assuming crush to love, there's a BIG difference.

Good thing, the third book, Beautiful Redemption, Thomas and Liis is Fanfuckingtastic. To start this, I'd like to have my own Thomas. The loyal, strong, a little emotional in the end Maddox. I like Liis too, I like a brave heroine, unlike Camille, it's like they're the opposite. This one's straightforward. No lies, no hesitations, she just put her feelings out there AND she's realistic, she uses her brain and not only her heart, which makes Thomas a little dumbfounded by her actions. I have a little book hangover right now, that's why I' writing all these down, because I'm a little scared to forget this feeling. Its been a while since I had a book hangover (I also finished November 9 by Colleen Hoover last week, and it didn't give me the giddy feeling i was expecting, maybe Ill write about that one later) and I'd like to remember the feeling of being this in love with a book, I think I'm blushing right now just thinking about it. Sobrang nakakakilig, to the point na nakakainis na, with the tears threatening to fall  sa kilig.

January 6, 2016

I finished the book last December (its now January), I just want to finish this review, hopefully I can recall the feeling I had when I finished this book. Beautiful Sacrifice. Taylor and Falyn. Away from the other Maddox brothers (though Tyler, Taylor's brother is just around the corner), it was refreshing to have a story not really related to Travis (I a have a bit of book hangover over Beautiful Redemption). Falyn came from a rich family, she chose to separate herself from her family, live on her own and do decisions on her own. Now enter Taylor, then came chemistry between the two, Falyn's not ready for a relationship but finding about Taylor's background and where he came from, Falyn needs Taylor.
I had a bit of an idea of what will happen because Taylor made an appearance in Beautiful Redemption, it coincides with the previous book which was a huge spoiler alert. I love the drama. I cant wait for the last installment about Taylor's twin, Tyler and his bestfriend. Im such a sucker for bestfriends to lovers stories. :)
